Turkish giants Galatasaray have announced that they have signed Brazil midfielder Elano from Manchester City on a four-year deal. Eastlands this summer, after he found himself in and out of Mark Hughes' side last season.
However, a switch to Turkey will come as surprise news as the Milan clubs - AC and Inter - were previously believed to be leading the race for his signature.
Gala have claimed in a statement on their website that they have secured a deal for Elano, and they hope to unveil him to the Istanbul press on Friday.
Reports have put the fee in the region of £8million - the same figure City paid to sign Elano from Ukrainian outfit Shakhtar Donetsk two years ago.
During his time at City, Elano scored 18 goals in 80 appearances in all competitions, but has been squeezed out by the raft of big-name signings at the club over the summer.
